hey! just looking a bit of light here... how much work needs done to put a 1.6 16v gsi engine into a 1.0 12v corsa?? what all needs changed? how much ya talkin? and how big of a job is it??
any help wud be greatly appreciated...so i can make a decsion weather to do this in the near future or jst buy a new car wen the time cums
duno..i like the wee 1.6 engines...wud suit me anyway but like does loom needed changed? driftshafts? upgraded brakes? etc? of just engine and gearbox?
i think youd need the engine, gearbox, loom. as 4 the drive shafts im not too sure, my mate had a 1.0 12v converted to c20ne engine and still used the 1.0 shafts with 2.0 cv joints married up 2 them but ud b better jus gettin all the parts from a donor car as mentioned, the small block engine would b lighter than a redtop so the car would handle a bit better with the wee engine in, i had a redtop corsa and it was really nose heavy compared 2 my wee 1.2 16v which was like a go-kart!! depends wat u want really, a good handling car or a straight line car, id go 4 handling!!
check the parts department, theres a guy sellin 2 2l 8v engines 4 120 quid, he also has the shafts ud need 2 do the converion, seems cheap enuf 4 the stuff, well worth a look!!
